Established in 1971 by Mike Pattison, Central Tyre and Auto started out as a general auto garage in a small unit on Ryle Street in Macclesfield with 1 ramp, a few tyres and a dream! Over the years the number of staff grew as the work came in and in 1985 we finally out grew the building and moved to a new premisis on Buxton Road. With the move came 6 ramps and the ability to expand the offerings to include servicing and MOTs. Over the years, Central Tyre and Auto gained a first class reputation and became one of the top garages in the area with customers returning year on year. As the reputation and customer base grew, as did the staff until in 2008 the decision was made that a larger building was needed. The site of the ex Moss Rose Motors provided the perfect solution and the deal was done. With 11 ramps, 16 staff and an awful lot more tyres, the move was made and the rest, as they say, is history.
